The twelve year old boy Michael, called Fresh, works for drug dealers like Esteban. He only meets his father Sam in secret in the park, where he plays chess with him, as Sam has obviously been banned from dealing with Fresh.
Two of Michael's classmates are killed by a drug dealer while playing basketball. Michael then decides to play the two drug lords he works for against each other and start a new life with his sister, who leads a life as a junkie.
