The Friends of the Black Forest National Park e. V. is a registered association that was founded in December 2011 with the aim of promoting the acceptance of the Black Forest National Park .
General
Since the discussion about a Black Forest National Park became louder in 2011 after the change of government in Baden-Württemberg , residents of the Black Forest have split into two camps. From the advocating camp, an association of citizens emerged, who on December 3, 2011 at the Darmstädter Hütte, formed the Friends of the Black Forest National Park e. V. founded. The aim was to promote acceptance of the Black Forest National Park. The Freundeskreis was heavily involved in the creation of the national park. The administrative bodies of the association are the general assembly, the sections and the board.
campaign
When the Freundeskreis was founded, the focus was on promoting the national park. Together with the advertising agency Zeitwerk GmbH, which was volunteering for this, a communication strategy and campaign, the web portal, the Facebook presence, flyers, bumper stickers and other measures were initiated. For example, various campaign flyers were designed from topics such as tourism, gastronomy and family. Supporters of the campaign were also Greenpeace and the NABU Baden-Württemberg. The campaign's slogan was: “Our heart for nature. For the region. For the people. ”The successful campaign also supported the award of the Freundeskreis.
engagement
After the official establishment of the national park on January 1, 2014, the Freundeskreis changed from a campaign association to a support association and took on new tasks. Regular, public, cultural and scientific events on environmental , landscape , nature and species protection are held. This also includes the promotion of nature conservation measures and the support and organization of practical environmental protection work. The Circle of Friends is primarily concerned with protecting and establishing the positive image of the national park. Much of it is public relations. This takes place through regular information events , including topics such as "Wolves in the Black Forest" or the referendum on species protection - "Save the bees" , as well as through tree planting and rubbish collection campaigns. There are also guided tours with rangers and workshops . Important tasks of the association are the financial support of the national park and the promotion of sponsors ; among other things, the volunteer rangers could be equipped with rain jackets. The members of the association are also active in the renovation of restaurants and hotels in the Black Forest. In addition, the results are disseminated through publications such as the National Park Black Forest magazine and exhibitions. The Circle of Friends' pro campaign worked so well that there are now exchange projects with campaigners from other national parks.
Magazine and blog
In order to draw attention to important topics related to the national park and to be able to show the development processes of nature in the park, the Circle of Friends publishes the association organ National Park Black Forest Magazin twice a year, which distributes 200,000 copies to the citizens of Baden-Württemberg becomes. There is also the Black Forest National Park blog online , on which the contents of the magazine are freely accessible. The first issue of the magazine was published in autumn / winter 2014 .
