Frieder Löhrer
Frieder C. Löhrer (born January 6, 1956 in Aachen ) is a German engineer and industrial manager .
Life
Frieder Löhrer grew up in a musical family in Aachen and attended grammar school there. During his school days he sang in the Aachen Cathedral Choir and learned the flute, piano, cello and organ. He also studied composition at the Cologne University of Music and Dance . His compositions were performed publicly in Aachen.
He did his community service in a psychiatric facility.
He studied mechanical engineering at RWTH Aachen . During his studies he joined the Corps Saxo-Montania zu Freiberg and Dresden in Aachen . After completing his studies, he had his first professional positions from 1981 at Thyssen and from 1985 at Wacker Chemie . In 1986 he moved to the Austrian lighting manufacturer Zumtobel in Dornbirn / Austria. Löhrer built up the US market and in just a few months established a manufacturing company in the United States . From 1988 he headed the Zumtobel business in the USA for three years, based in New York . At the same time, he completed his Master of Business Administration (MBA) studies at the Henley Business School in Reading / England.
Further positions led him to the later insolvent ProLaser AG, the later insolvent WECO Optik-Maschinen Wernicke & Co. GmbH, and to the eyewear manufacturer Rodenstock in Munich . At Rodenstock, Löhrer was managing director of the technical and optical subsidiaries Weco GmbH, Düsseldorf, and Rodenstock Instrumente GmbH, Munich, from 1998. In 2002 Rodenstock appointed him global sales manager. Löhrer was responsible for 14 independent national companies in Europe and the USA as well as the Rodenstock brands Optovision ( glasses ) and Nigura ( glasses frames). On July 1, 2004, Löhrer joined the board of directors of the designer furniture manufacturer Rolf Benz in Nagold .
From April 2008 to July 2010 Frieder Löhrer was Chairman of the Board of Management or CEO of the SDAX- listed television manufacturer Loewe AG . The reason for his withdrawal from Loewe AG is likely to be a loss of 4.9 million euros in the second quarter of 2010. From 2011 to 2012 Löhrer was a member of the executive board of Stremler AG, Lindau , a consulting company specializing in logistics and delivery systems ( supply chain engineering ), where he worked as a project manager with a focus on brand and distribution companies. Since March 2015, Löhrer has been a strategic investor and member of the advisory board of the newly founded Paschen GmbH , Wadersloh , the market leader in individually designed libraries .
Since 2010, Löhrer has been chairman of the supervisory board of Lens AG, Leipzig , which offers company and process analyzes, especially for medium-sized mechanical engineering companies, including interim management, coaching and project management. Löhrer also holds a supervisory board mandate at Quants Vermögensmanagement AG, Nuremberg .
Frieder Löhrer is an old man and volunteers in the umbrella organization of his corps. From the beginning of 2007 to the end of 2009, he was the first chairman of the board of the Weinheimer Verband Alter Corpsstudenten . After reunification , he also became the old man of the Corps Saxo-Borussia Freiberg, which was reconstituted in 1992 .
Löhrer is politically active in the FDP , for which he ran in the state elections in North Rhine-Westphalia in 2017 in the constituency of Dortmund II and received 7.9% of the first votes.
