Friedrich Julius von Mützschefall (born January 29, 1693 in Klettenberg , † August 5, 1761 in Liegnitz ) was a Prussian major general , chief of garrison regiment No. 2 and heir to Klettenberg, Branderode , Liebenrode and Kleinwechselungen .

Life

His parents were Captain Bodo Heinrich von Mützeschfall (born November 12, 1652), heir to Klettenburg, Branderode, Liebenrode and Kleinwechselungen, and his wife Anna Marie, née von Campe from the Kirchberg family.

Military career

Mützschefall went into Prussian service in 1711 and joined the “von Dönhof” infantry regiment . He was born on July 10, 1716 Ensign , on April 4, 1721 second lieutenant , and on December 16, 1728 First Lieutenant . On April 28, 1729 he was transferred to the "Raders" garrison battalion. In 1733 he changed as captain in Sachsen-Eisenachsche services. In 1733/35 he took part in the Rhine campaign, where he became major in 1734 . In 1738 he became a lieutenant colonel and princely chamberlain . From there he switched back to Prussian services on December 2, 1741. He came as a lieutenant colonel in the garrison regiment "von Natalis" . There he became a colonel and chief of the regiment on August 6, 1742 . In 1744 he was transferred to Glatz with the regiment , where he enlisted on August 29, 1744. His superiors noted positively that there had been no desertions. During the Second Silesian War he stayed in Glatz. On January 10, 1746, three companies were transferred to Züllichau , five to Cottbus , two to Sommerfeld and the two grenadier companies to Glogau. On August 14, 1747 he was given leave to go to Bad Pyrmont for a cure.

On May 7, 1753, King Frederick II appointed him major general and awarded him the order of Pour le Mérite . On July 29, 1755, the regiment was increased by two battalions. At the beginning of the Seven Years' War he was stationed in Glogau . Mützschefall asked for his release, which was granted to him on February 17, 1759. He died on August 5, 1761 in Liegnitz.

family

Mützschefall was married twice. His first wife was Katharina Julia von Oppen (* 1705; † March 2, 1739) from the Gatersleben family. After the death of his first wife, he married Lucie Sophie von Witzleben in 1740 (* September 17, 1712; † March 23, 1777). He had children from both marriages:
