Friedrich Kühle

Friedrich Kühle (born February 15, 1791 in Klein Wanzleben , † May 3, 1853 in Magdeburg ) was a Prussian major general .

Life

He was the son of the half-horse Johann Adolf Kühle and his wife Marie Elisabeth, née Rautenberg.

Military career

After attending the cathedral school in Halberstadt , Kühle joined the 5th Line Infantry Regiment of the Army of the Kingdom of Westphalia on March 29, 1809 . As Fourier , he took part in the battle at Ölper in 1809 during the campaign against the black band of Duke Friedrich Wilhelm . In mid-November 1810, Kühle advanced to secondary lieutenant and rose to captain and company commander in the Fusilier Guard by January 6, 1813 . In this capacity, Kühle fought alongside France in 1813 in the siege of Magdeburg , the battles near Bautzen and the Katzbach . He was awarded the Legion of Honor for his behavior during the Battle of Leipzig .

After the collapse of the Kingdom of Westphalia, Kühle joined the Prussian Army on January 20, 1814 and was employed as a prime lieutenant in the 1st Elbe Landwehr Infantry Regiment. With this association he was at the siege of Givet, fought at Ligny and Waterloo . Kühle was wounded in the battle near Namur and awarded the Iron Cross, 2nd class. After the end of the wars of liberation , he was promoted to captain on November 9, 1815, and on March 18, 1816 was aggregated to the 1st Pomeranian Infantry Regiment No. 2 . This was followed by his transfer to the Magdeburg Grenadier Landwehr Battalion on May 7, 1816. With his promotion to Major on June 30, 1826, Kühle was commander of the 1st Battalion in the 3rd Landwehr Guard Regiment. On March 30, 1839, he was commissioned as a lieutenant colonel to lead the 25th infantry regiment . On January 28, 1840 he was appointed regimental commander and on September 10, 1840 he was promoted to colonel . His achievements in the troop leadership were on September 12, 1842 by the award of the Red Eagle Order III. Class honored with a ribbon.

Kühle was released from his post as regimental commander on June 30, 1846 and then appointed commander of the 16th Landwehr Brigade in Trier. In this capacity he was promoted to major general on March 27, 1847. On May 27, 1848 was adjusted coolness to the statutory pension for disposition and granted him on 30 March 1850 his farewell .

Kühle married Henriette Wilhelmine Luise Vogler (1798–1875) on December 19, 1819 in Magdeburg. The marriage produced a son and three daughters, including:
