Friedrich Klinge

Friedrich Klinge (born January 13, 1883 in Uelzen , † December 21, 1949 in Goslar ) was a German lawyer and politician ( DVP , DP ).

Life

After graduating from high school in Salzwedel , Klinge began studying law and political science at the universities in Erlangen , Berlin and Göttingen , completing the first state examination in 1905 and the second state examination in 1909. During his studies in 1902 he became a member of the Bubenreuther Erlangen fraternity . In January 1910 he became a magistrate's assistant in Potsdam and in October of the same year he moved to Goslar as the city counsel.

Klinge joined the DVP in 1918 and was a member of the Prussian Provincial Parliament of the Province of Hanover from 1918 to 1920 and again from 1928 to 1929 . From April 1917 to 1921 he served as mayor of Goslar, then as mayor of the city until his resignation on April 5, 1933 . During his term of office, among other things, the 1000th anniversary celebration, which was carried out in 1922 and which he helped to organize. In September 1933 he was finally given retirement. He then moved to Berlin and worked there in the private sector until 1945.

After the Second World War , Klinge returned to Goslar, where he reigned as Lord Mayor from 1948 until his death. In the first federal election in 1949 , he was elected to the German Bundestag via the Lower Saxony state list of the German Party (DP) . It was here that he was elected chairman of the DP parliamentary group . Shortly afterwards he passed away. His successor in the chairmanship of the DP parliamentary group was Hans Mühlenfeld .

Friedrich Klinge was married to Barbara Helms.
