Friedrich Freiherr von Bülow (born January 18, 1698 - † May 18, 1738 in Klein Heyde ) was a Prussian Minister of War .

Life

Origin and family

Friedrich von Bülow (no. 175 of the gender census ) came from the Mecklenburg prehistoric noble family von Bülow . He was a son of Oberhof Master of the Queen Wilhelm Dietrich von Bulow (# 163; from 1664 to 1737) and Christine Antoinette, born von Krosigk . In 1721 he married Johanna Auguste von Arnim (1700–1763), daughter of the Prussian Field Marshal Georg Abraham von Arnim (1651–1734). The marriage resulted in two daughters and four sons, including:

Career

Bülow studied at the University of Halle from 1714 to 1716 and then entered the Prussian civil service. After a short time he was promoted to judge of the chamber court in Berlin . Bülow became a knight of the Order of St. John at the Sonnenburg . He was sent successively to Warsaw , Stockholm and, in 1728, to Regensburg as envoy . After the failed escape attempt of the Crown Prince Bulow was still 1730 as Hofgerichtspräsident to the Lithuanian Hofgericht in Insterburg added. Bülow carried out the tasks assigned to him with great care and was subsequently appointed secret minister of state or secret minister of budget and war on 23 May 1733. Hereby he also became a member of the Prussian government under King Friedrich Wilhelm I (1688–1740). In 1735 he became prelate of Kolberg . He was the heir to Schönberg.
