history
In 824 Frieso donated to the monastery of Fulda land in today's district Friesenhausen. This is the first documentary mention, but the roots are likely to be well before that. In 1517, in addition to the village, a desert of the same name is mentioned in the documents of the Fulda Abbey (Fuldaer Lehenrev. V. Ebersberg).
The village later belonged to the old district of Fulda and had 234 inhabitants in 1939, 306 in 1961 and 357 in 1970.
In the course of the regional reform in Hesse , the new municipality of Dipperz was formed on August 1, 1972 from Friesenhausen and seven other previously independent municipalities ( Armenhof , Dipperz , Dörmbach , Finkenhain , Kohlgrund , Wisselsrod and Wolferts ). Friesenhausen is a recognized resort .
