Fritz Klacl , sometimes also Friedrich Klacl , (born April 23, 1919 in Vienna , † before October 20, 1965 ) was an Austrian football player .

Career

Developed from FC Wolfrum in Donaustadt , the 22nd district of Vienna , Fritz Klacl, son of the long-time chairman of FC Stadlau , Theodor Klacl, joined SK Admira Vienna , for which he was initially in the National League , the highest in the 1937/38 season Division in Austrian football, as a defender played point games.

With the annexation of Austria he played in the Gauliga Ostmark from 1938 to 1941 , one of 17, later increased to 23 Gauligen at the time of National Socialism as the uniform top division in the German Reich , from 1941 to 1943 and - due to relegation - the 1944/45 season in the Gauliga Donau-Alpenland.

In the ten-team league, he and his team came first in the first season and thus took part in the final round of the German championship . In the competition, which was held in four groups, his team prevailed as first place in Group 3 - due to the better goal quotient compared to the Stuttgart kickers with the same number of points . After he had played all six group games, he won with his team also in the June 4, 1939 Frankfurt discharged semi-final against Hamburger SV with 4: 1. The final encounter with FC Schalke 04 on June 18, 1939 in the Berlin Olympic Stadium ended for his team with a clear 9-0 defeat and for him in the 52nd minute with a dismissal after he had knocked his opponent Fritz Szepan to the ground . As a result, he was initially excluded from the NSRL for life, ie he should never have been allowed to play football again. In November 1939, however, Klacl was pardoned by the Reich Sports Leader because of "his excellent demeanor" in the war.

He was also used in six games for the club competition introduced in 1935 for the Tschammer Cup . He made his debut on November 6, 1938 in the quarter-finals in the elimination round Ostmark in the 6-0 defeat against First Vienna FC . He played significantly more games in 1941 when he was able to advance with his team to the semi-finals , but was eliminated from the competition with 2: 4 at Dresdner SC , the later German champions. In the four previous rounds on September 21, 1941 , he scored two goals in a 5-0 quarter-final victory over the Stuttgarter Kickers, scoring 1-0 in the eighth and 4-0 in the 44th minute.

After the end of the Second World War , gaming operations quickly resumed on September 1, 1945. From then until 1949 he played his point games in the (Viennese) league organized by the Vienna Football Association . At the end of the first season, the class could be kept in ninth place (of twelve participating teams) because of the one goal better difference compared to the newcomer SC Helfort Vienna ; two sixth places and a third place followed. His last season, 1949/50 , he completed in the State League A and finished this with his team in fifth place.

In 1965 Klacl died at the age of 46 and was buried on October 20, 1965 at the Kagran cemetery (group 13, row 11 number 3). His wife Erna, born in 1926, survived him by almost 43 years, died at the age of 82 on August 17, 2008 and was buried at her husband's side.
