Fritz Zimmerer (born September 14, 1930 in Wörth an der Donau ; † January 8, 2013 there ) was a German entrepreneur , district fire inspector and fire department official.

Live and act

Fritz Zimmerer was born the son of a contractor in Wörth, went to school in Wörth and then began an apprenticeship as a farm mechanic in Regensburg . In 1967 he took over his father's business and over the years expanded it into a haulage company . His company was for construction companies , Domspitzmilch eG, for decades . and in winter services for the district of Regensburg .

Fritz Zimmerer had dedicated his life to volunteering and the fire department .

In 1949, at the age of 19, Zimmerer joined the volunteer fire department in Wörth an der Donau. There he acted from 1955 to 1966 as deputy commander. In 1966 he was appointed fire chief and elected fire chief . He held this honorary position until 1978 and expanded the Wörther fire brigade into a modern, well-equipped service. He then became chairman of the Wörth base fire brigade, which has been one of the largest fire brigades in the Regensburg district since then, and accompanied this office until 1995. One of the central concerns of Zimmerers was the junior fire brigade in the youth fire brigade and their training as well as the continuous development of the Wörth Fire brigade to a powerful, day and night operational facility both for fire fighting , as well as for technical assistance . In 1976 he played a key role in the planning and construction of the modern fire station in Wörth. At the same time, from 1971 to 1990 Fritz Zimmerer was a city councilor. Here he sat down u. a. for the concerns of the Wörther local fire brigades .
