Frontside is a deathcore band from Sosnowiec, Poland, founded in 1993 .

history

Dariusz Kupis (2009)

Sebastian Flasza, called "Astek" ( vocals ) and Mariusz "Demon" Dzwonek ( electric guitar ) already played in several metal bands before they both decided to start Frontside in 1993 in the Polish city of Sosnowiec . Together, the duo looked for other musicians and found them in Szymon "Simon" Dzieciaszek (electric guitar), drummer Paweł "Destroyer" Śmieciuch and bassist Wojciech "Novak" Nowak. At the beginning of their career, the group was only able to gain prominence in the Polish underground scene.

In the years between 1994 and 1997 the group released 3 demo CDs on their own. In 2000 a split CD with 1125 followed . A year later, Metal Mind Productions released the debut album "For Ours Is The Kingdom, The Power And Glory" in a limited edition in both Polish and English. In 2002 the second album "I Odpusc Nam Nasze Winy" followed, this time through Mystic Production . The group received the Fryderyk in the category "Metal Band of the Year". A translated version of the album "I Odpusc Nam Nasze Winy" should be released in 2004. The group is now under contract with Regain Records . Also in 2004 appeared "Zmierzch Bogow: Pierwszy Krok Do Mentalnej Rewolucji".

With Vader and Behemoth , the group organized two major tours through Poland. Frontside was on stage at several festivals with groups like Kreator , Iron Maiden and Nile . In autumn 2003, Simon left the group. In November, Dariusz "Daron" Kupis, who previously played for One Shot Eye , was accepted into the group as the successor to the emigrated Simon. Astek also left the band. Marcin "Auman" Rdest from Totem takes over the position of singer.

After a tour with Behemoth, a video shoot for the band's first single followed. Frontside changed labels again in 2006. About the German label Dockyard 1 . On this label Frontside released "Twilight of the Gods: A First Step to the Mental Revolution". An English version of the 2004 album "Zmierzch Bogow: Pierwszy Krok Do Mentalnej Rewolucji" was released in September 2006. Before that, Frontside toured the UK with Decapitated and Biomechanical . In October 2006 another album was released with “Absolutus”, again through Mystic Production. At the end of 2008 another album was released with “Teoria Konspiracji”. The last studio album "Zniszczyc Wszystko" was released in 2010, also through Mystic Production. The group already has an article in the Polish version of Metal Hammer . For "Teoria Konspiracji" and "Zniszczyc Wszystko" the group was nominated for the Fryderyk, but lost in the category "Best Metalablum" to "Verses of Steel" (2009) and "Fishdick Zwei - The Dick Is Rising Again" (2011) each from Acid Drinkers .

In March 2012 Frontside toured Poland with the Russian deathcore band My Autumn , Annotations of an Autopsy from England and Drown My Day . The tour was called "Deathcore Legion Tour". The first two concerts in Cracow and Warsaw also featured Sylosis and Textures .

After various line-up changes, the group consists of Marcin Rdest, Wojciech Nowak, Darius Kupin, Tomasz Ochab ( drums ) and Mariusz Dzwonek (vocals, electric guitar).
