2012 Africa Cup of Nations Women / Qualification

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

24 African women's national football teams were registered for the qualification of the 2012 African Football Championship , but two of them were withdrawn.

The qualification was played in two rounds in the knockout system with home and away legs. The 20 weaker nations met in the first round. Since two teams withdrew, there were only eight games. The winners and the teams that made it to the second round without a fight determined the seven teams with four other national teams (semi-finalists of the 2010 African Championship) that qualified for the final round together with the host.

Preliminary round

The first legs were for the 14th and 15th, the second leg for the 27th, 28th and 29th January 2012.
