Full Circle is the eighth studio album by the American rock band The Doors . It was released on Elektra Records in August 1972 . It is the second since Jim Morrison's death in July 1971 and the last for the time being before An American Prayer was published in 1978 .
history
On the self-produced album, recorded in spring 1972, keyboardist Ray Manzarek and guitarist Robbie Krieger again share the vocals. As on previous albums, the bass was taken over by various guest musicians. With Good Rockin ' by Roy Brown and a cover was included. The album reached number 68 on the US charts. The first single The Mosquito came in at number 85 in the US and 25 in Germany.
A CD version was only released in 2006 on the Timeless Holland label.
criticism
Lindsay Planner from Allmusic awarded 4 out of 5 stars. She wrote that Full Circle was definitely an appropriate name for the album. “Full Circle (1972) is definitely an appropriate name for this last project of original material to be issued under the Doors moniker. […] While there are a handful of undeniably remarkable cuts scattered throughout, Full Circle is increasingly sporadic and less focused than its predecessor. "
