Funkenhagen is a district of the municipality Boitzenburger Land , which belongs to the district of Uckermark in the state of Brandenburg . Until 2001, the village belonged as an independent municipality to the former Boitzenburg office.

Townscape

The village of Funkenhagen is not far from the border with Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania . The Boisterfelde residential area is to the north, the Fischerhaus and Mellenau residential areas to the east. In the northeast is the village of Buchenhain . In the south, the residential areas Steinrode and Rosenow and the village of Hardenbeck are located. To the west lies Thomsdorf with the residential areas Charlottenthal and bungalow settlement on Lake Carwitzer See. The villages of Carwitz and Conow are beyond the border with Mecklenburg . The closest cities are Prenzlau , Templin and Lychen .

Funkenhagen is located directly on the Mellensee . The Krewitzsee lies further to the east. The Carwitzer See and Bibelsee lakes, located behind the Mecklenburg border, are also not far away.
