The Fynshav is a Danish Ro-Ro - Ferry .

history

The ship was built in 1998 under the hull number 205 on the Ørskov Christensens Staalskibsværft in Frederikshavn . The ship design came from the Danish ship architecture office OSK-ShipTec.

The launch of the ferry was in July 1998 and was completed in December 1998. The ship was as Kyholm delivered to the Danish shipping company Samsø lines to be temporarily Sælvig on the island Samsoe and Kalundborg on the island of Zealand , from February 1999 then between Kolby Kås and Kalundborg used. In the summer season it also operated the route between Kolby Kås and Hov on Jutland at times .

In October 2008 the ferry was chartered to Nordic Ferry Services and subsequently used by SamsøTrafikken. In July 2009 she was sold to Nordic Ferry Services. On October 1, 2010, the ship came to Danske Færger , which was the result of the merger of Nordic Ferry Services, Bornholmstrafikken and Sydfynske.

In early January 2015 the ship was renamed Fynshav . Since mid-March 2015 it has been running together with Frigg Sydfyen on the Alslinjen-operated route between Bøjden on the island of Als and Fynshav on the island of Funen , replacing the Odin Sydfyen here .

Technical data and equipment

The ship is powered by two four-stroke - six-cylinder - diesel engines each with 1,470  kW power driven. The MAN B&W 6L28 engines were built by Alpha Diesel in Frederikshavn. The motors act on two controllable pitch propellers . The ship is equipped with two bow thrusters .

There are two generators (540 kVA apparent power ) driven by the main motors, each with an output of 432 kW,  and two generators (285 kVA apparent power) driven by diesel engines, each with 228 kW output, for the power supply. Furthermore, an emergency generator (139 kVA apparent power) driven by a diesel engine with 111 kW power was driven.

The ferry has a continuous vehicle deck that is accessible via ramps. An additional height-adjustable deck is available to increase the car capacity. The vehicle deck is completely closed. At the bow there is a bow visor that can be opened upwards . At the rear there is a tailgate that can be opened upwards. The usable height on the vehicle deck is 4.45 meters. The entrance width is 6.83 meters at the front and 4.41 meters at the rear.

There are three decks above the vehicle deck. Among other things, the facilities for the passengers are housed here, including a self-service restaurant and a lounge with a bar. There is also a lounge on board for passengers traveling with dogs. There is a sundeck on the upper deck. The bridge is in the front of the ship. It is completely closed. To improve the overview, it goes a little beyond the width of the ship.

The ferry can carry 400 passengers in the summer. In the winter half-year the passenger capacity is 300 people. The ferry's vehicle capacity is 90 cars. There is space for 50 cars on the main deck and 40 cars on the height-adjustable deck.
