Günter Glende

Günter Glende (born January 9, 1918 in Stolp ; † March 27, 2004 in Berlin ) was a functionary of the SED in the GDR . He was the head of the Department of Administration of Business Operations of the Central Committee of the SED.

Life

The son of a worker graduated after attending the elementary school , a vocational training for electricians and agricultural machinery mechanic and in 1938 the National Labor Service pulled (RAD). After studying for a year at the higher technical schools in Berlin and Jüterbog from 1940 to 1941, he did his military service in the Wehrmacht between 1941 and 1945 .

In 1945 after the land reform in the Soviet occupation zone Neubauer on Gut Moltow in the district of Wismar and a member of the KPD . In 1946 he became a member of the SED through the compulsory unification of the SPD and KPD . He then worked from 1946 to 1948 as an agricultural machinist at Gut Moltow and mayor of the community and, until 1949, as a machine representative of the Association of Mutual Farmers Aid (VdgB) in the Wismar district. He then became technical director of the machine rental station (MAS) and later of the machine tractor station (MTS) in Dorf Mecklenburg , before he was technical director and specialist teacher at the MAS state school in Mecklenburg in Güstrow between 1951 and 1952 .

After a course at the German Academy for Political Science and Law " Walter Ulbricht " in Potsdam , he became secretary at the council of the Güstrow district in 1953 and then from 1953 to 1958 instructor in the mechanical engineering and metallurgy department of the SED Central Committee (ZK der SED). In 1958 he moved to the Central Committee's Administration of Business Enterprises and was first sector manager and head of the transport service and then from 1961 to 1964 deputy head of the department. In addition, he became a member in 1960 and then from 1962 to 1989 chairman of the revision commission of the SED party organization at the SED Central Committee. In 1964 he finally became the successor to Walter Heibich himself head of the department of administration of the economic operations of the Central Committee of the SED and held this function until the end of the SED in 1989. In this position he had in addition to the Central Committee department heads Heinz Wildenhain , Günter Ehrensperger and Julius Cebulla as well the head of the secret area for commercial coordination in the Ministry of Foreign Trade Alexander Schalck-Golodkowski had a decisive influence on the financing and the assets of the SED.

In 1973 Glende married Gisela Trautzsch , the long-time office manager of the Politburo of the SED Central Committee .
