Günther-Martin Pauli (* 10. January 1965 in Saulgau ) is a German politician of the CDU . He was a member of the state parliament of Baden-Württemberg from 2001 to 2016 and has been the district administrator of the Zollernalb district since 2007 .

Life

After graduating from the Leibniz-Gymnasium in Rottweil , Günther-Martin Pauli did his basic military service with Panzerbataillon 283 in Münsingen . He then studied law at the Eberhard-Karls-University in Tübingen , where he was a research assistant at Roman Schnur's chair between 1989 and 1990 . Günther-Martin Pauli passed his first state examination in 1992 and his second state examination in 1995 . During these three years he was a trainee lawyer in the Hechingen district court . This was followed by a job as an editorial volunteer at Zollern-Alb-Kurier . In 1996/97 he worked as a lawyer and was also a personal advisor to the Bundestag member Wolfgang Freiherr von Stetten . From 1997 to 2007 he was mayor of the city of Geislingen , since 2007 he has been the district administrator of the Zollernalb district. He is married, Roman Catholic and has three children.

In addition to party politics, he was Deputy Chairman of the Program Advisory Board of Antenne RT4 between 1987 and 1991 and from 1991 to 2001 a member of the Media Council of the State Office for Communication Baden-Württemberg as a representative of the youth associations. Between 1986 and 1997 he was a member of the board of directors of the Zollernalbkreis Youth Association, and from 1992 he was the first chairman. Günther-Martin Pauli remained closely connected to youth work even after he left the board of the youth ring: from 1994 to 2004 he was a member of the youth welfare committee of the district council of the Zollernalb district.

From 1998 to 2001 he was also a lecturer at the State Administration School in Haigerloch. In addition, since 1984 he has been a member of the Federation for the Environment and Nature Conservation Germany (BUND), the Kolping Family , the DRK and the Child Protection Association. Since 2007 he has been chairman of the Philipp-Matthäus-Hahn-Stiftung , a foundation for the promotion of talented students and young scientists at the Albstadt-Sigmaringen University . In addition to his political offices, Günther-Martin Pauli has been a member of the Binsdorf game association since 1989 and was a football referee in the district for several years.

From 1980 to 1991, Günther-Martin Pauli successively took over the chairmanship of the Junge Union Binsdorf and Geislingen (from 1987) and from 2001 to 2005 was a member of the CDU district committee South Württemberg-Hohenzollern and district chairman of the CDU Zollernalbkreis from 2005 to 2007.

In terms of local politics , he was represented in the local council in Binsdorf from 1989 to 1996 and city council in Geislingen from 1989 to 1997. In 1996 he joined the Christian Democratic Workforce (CDA). Between 2000 and 2007 he was a district councilor, a member of the Neckar-Alb regional assembly and a member of the Upper Rhine Council . In 2005 Günther-Martin Pauli was elected CDU district chairman of the Zollernalb district, where he became district administrator in 2007.

He entered state politics on April 12, 2001 when he entered the state parliament of Baden-Württemberg via the constituency of Balingen . As a directly elected member of parliament, he has been media policy spokesman for the CDU parliamentary group and chairman of the media policy working group since 2005. In the state parliament he was a full member of the standing committee , the election review committee and the committee for integration . In addition, he was a deputy member of the Home Affairs Committee, the Environment, Climate and Energy Management Committee, the Petitions Committee, and the Committee on Labor and Social Affairs, Family, Women and Seniors.

As the only member of the opposition in the state parliament of Baden-Württemberg, Pauli voted on November 28, 2013 for the law establishing the Black Forest National Park .

In the state elections in Baden-Württemberg in 2016 , Pauli no longer stood for election due to his position as district administrator. Nicole Hoffmeister-Kraut , who then became Minister in the Ministry of Economics, Labor and Housing in Baden-Württemberg , was her successor as MP .
