Gabriel- Hippolyte Destailleur (born September 27, 1822 in Paris; † November 17, 1893 there ), also known as Hippolyte-Alexandre Destailleur (full baptismal name Hippolyte Alexandre Gabriel Walter), was an internationally recognized French architect , restorer , interior designer and collector who is to be assigned to historicism .

Destailleur worked in the second half of the 19th century on behalf of influential personalities in France, England, Austria and Germany.

Gabriel-Hippolyte was the son of Percier and Fontaine trained architect François-Hippolyte Destailleur (1787-1852) and brother of Hélène de Bourge (* 1812), Emma Leroux de Lincy and Henri-Prosper-Alfred Destailleur, all three as painters worked.

From 1842 he studied at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris with Achille Leclère . From the following year he worked in his father's studio, which he took over in 1853 after his death. Among other things, he restored Vaux-le-Vicomte Castle .

His son Walter-André Destailleur also became an architect.
