Gaden is part of the municipality of Eitting in the Upper Bavarian district of Erding .

geography

The village essentially stretches along a road. This runs parallel to the Isar floodplains in the north. The Goldach and the Dorfen run alongside the Isar . Oberhummel is located on the northern side of the Isar, already in the Freising district . Berglern is in the southeast. The closest larger cities are Moosburg an der Isar to the northeast (7 km) as well as Freising in the west and Erding in the south, both around 10 kilometers away.

history

The name Gaden refers, according to the Bavarian Dictionary of Johann Andreas Schmeller to a storage shed for marine dishes . The rafting on the Isar was from the 13th to the 19th centuries a means of freight and passenger transport on the Isar. The goods landed here were intended for the Erding area. Although traditionally oriented towards Oberhummel ( parish , school in Oberhummel, landowners from Oberhummel cultivate / cultivate large areas near Gaden), the place was added to the municipality of Eitting when the community was formed in 1818. The reason was probably the location south of the Isar. The church of St. Jakobus the Elder is still part of the Langenbach-Oberhummel parish association.

Economy and Transport

The A92 runs south of the village . The Erding junction is to the west of the village. There is a connection in the direction of Erding and beyond via the east airport tangent that begins there . Munich Airport is just 7 kilometers southeast . The location is particularly affected by aircraft noise when there is an easterly wind (and the aircraft taking off in an easterly direction) With the planned 3rd runway, the airport would move even closer to Gaden. The nearest train station is in Langenbach on the Munich – Regensburg railway line . There is a public transport connection to Eitting-Erding with the MVV bus line 569.

ARS Altmann operates a logistics center to the west of the town .
