The Goldach is a right tributary to the Isar , which after about 36 km, first rather north, then more north-easterly run through and on the edge of the Upper Bavarian districts of Munich , Erding and Freising north of Eitting- Gaden in the Hummler Au in the Isarauen nature reserve of flows into the Isar on the right and southwest.

On the upper reaches, the stream is called Kleine Goldach on successive sections , then Nudelgraben , then Große Goldach , after its longest Goldach section it finally flows as Auengraben Nasenbach .

course

The Goldach arises at about 496  m above sea level. NHN as a drainage ditch on the north side of the Mittlere-Isar-Kanal, southeast of Ismaning , close to the course of the Seebach which then runs through the village to the north . Other later tributaries to the Goldach and the neighboring waters of Dorfen arise from such ditches . The upper course of the Goldach, on the other hand, initially runs directly next to the Middle Isar Canal, then next to the reservoir that accompanies it on the left, approximately east-northeast. Here, along the western edge of the BMW test site, the short Kleine Goldach branches off to the left, while the Goldach itself continues along its southern edge to the reservoir, and then crosses under the site for a short distance at the neck of the turning loop. Immediately afterwards the body of water is divided; to the left is the Nudelgraben , which soon after the inlet of the Kleine Goldach runs northwards, while the Goldach itself, now initially called Große Goldach , turns northeast from the reservoir. A little before the Ismaninger Goldachhof , the Goldach's name run begins . Schwarzbach and Weißbach flow into it from the south.

In an increasingly northerly direction, it passes the broadcasting area of the Bavarian Broadcasting Corporation on its eastern edge. After that, the Strampfbach, which is now the largest tributary, runs to you from the right. It then flows northwest on the border between the districts of Munich on the left and Erding on the right and branches off at Gut Zengermoos at around 474  m above sea level. NHN to the right from the Zengergraben , which also drains the Zengermoos nature reserve . Soon after, the Goldach, where it touches the Freising district for the first time, divides the Schwaigbach to the left into the new district, which subsequently runs northwards closer to the Isar and flows into the Isar as a Pförreraugraben in Freising.

The Goldach itself resumes the Zengergraben after a new border run south of the Hallbergmoos village of Goldach . From here the Goldach runs in the Freising district. It crosses the villages of Goldach and Hallbergmoos and disappears underground north of Hallbergmoos. This is where the safety area of the southern runway of Munich Airport is crossed. It now flows north along the airport site, crossing under the railway line and the road connection to the airport. After a turn to the east, it follows the northern edge of the airport until it turns to the northeast and touches the Freising village of Attaching on the southern edge. Here is the attachment mill . In the further course the Goldach reaches the municipality of Marzling. After crossing under the A92 , the Marzlinger Au section of the Isar floodplain forest flows into it .

In the floodplain near the river it now flows for several kilometers almost to the east in meanders, taking in a drainage ditch from the airport before crossing a northern corner of the Erding district. Then it meanders under the name Nasenbach through the very wide floodplain forest and finally flows north of the Eittingen village of Gaden on this side of the municipality of Langenbach, with its settlement parts on the northern side of the river, from the right and at about 426  m above sea level. NHN in the Isar.

Historical course

The original course of the Goldach and the system of streams flowing to it were heavily interfered with through the construction of the Middle Isar Canal in the upper area as well as through the artificial drainage in the area of Munich Airport.

On historical maps, the Goldach arises not only from a short Kleine Goldach but also from a long Reierbach flowing into the south of what is now the Middle Isar Canal . From the Great Goldach even then the chain noodle digging down, then ran right from the right and south Hauser digging coming from Aschheim or Hausen, of which today only a very short, Häufergraben (!) Called rest in the north of the reservoir lake is left. A little further east the Raherbach flowed to him, which was also called Mehbach in the upper reaches and had its origin in Kirchheim . Between today's Goldachhof and the transmission system, the not inconsiderable Seifbach ran to it from the south, whose shorter course, called Finsinger Moosgraben , now flows over the Strampfbach.

The brook system used to drain wide areas of moss in often naturally meandering courses, of which almost all that have remained today are dead straight trenches that run through a predominantly agricultural landscape; the airport mentioned today also takes up large areas.
