Gangljodl is a small town in the Almtal in Upper Austria and belongs to the municipality of Grünau im Almtal in the Gmunden district .

geography

The Rotte is about 35 kilometers south of Wels , in the Almtal at around 500  m above sea level. A. It is located in the valley from Scharnstein , halfway to Grünau , and includes the location on the right bank of the Alm , on a mill stream of the river. The L549 Almseestrasse crosses the Alm directly to the south  . The ridge Scharnsteiner Spitze  ( 1133  m above sea level ) - Windhagkogel  ( 1334  m above sea level ) rises above the village .

History and infrastructure

The Weidingersaag was already here in the 18th century , and later the Gangljodlsäge , after which the place is called. In 1934 the weir was rebuilt.

Due to its location, the place is repeatedly affected by floods, most recently during the Danube flood in 2002 .

Gangljodl power plant

A small hydroelectric power station is operated at the upper water weir of the old Mühlbach . It runs with a Kaplan turbine as the residual water turbine, with a nominal output of around 160 kW. The plant was revitalized in 2004–2006 (approval 2010) in accordance with the EU Water Framework Directive  (WFD) and as part of the River Dialogue project . The transverse structure of Alm now is a ramp with approximately ¹ / ₃  meters height, right bank a small Regulierwehr (automated weir control with bottom outlet, and air vane), and a left bank fish ladder in the form of a ramp is resolved.
