Infrastructure

In addition to agriculture and alpine farming , gold mining was carried out here . In addition, in the past, the haulage across the Mallnitz Tauern to Carinthia played a role.

Mining

Mining was already practiced in ancient times. At that time there was a mobile feeder across the Mallnitz Tauern to Bockhart and the Silberpfennig mines . There are two miners' houses from the turn of the 20th century. Mining also resulted in the Paselstollen , a healing gallery that is important for Gastein tourism today.

tourism

In the Naßfelder Tal, the Niedersachsenhaus is at the transition to Kolm-Saigurn , the Hagener Hütte is at the transition to the Malnitzer Tauerntal ( Naßfelder Tauern ) and the winter sports resort Sportgastein . In 1889, with the Valeriehaus of the DuOeAV section Gastein, an alpine club hut was also built in the valley floor , but it soon became a private inn, as the access road was mobile. One of the miners' houses, which are also located in the valley floor, was managed by the Friends of Nature until the 1970s .

traffic

A municipal road opens up the Naßfelder Tal to the northeast to the B 167 near Böckstein and leads south over the Tauernkreuz into the Carinthian region .
