The Geißstein (also Gaisstein or Gaißstein ) is a mountain in the Kitzbühel Alps and Pinzgauer Grasberge with a height of 2363 m above sea level. A. on the border between the federal states of Tyrol and Salzburg .
location
The Geißstein is located about seven kilometers southeast of Jochberg . Valley locations in the state of Salzburg are Saalbach-Hinterglemm (in the northeast), as well as Stuhlfelden and Mittersill (in the south). Another marked path leads through the significantly steeper south-east flank, accessible from Vogelalmgraben or from the 2048 m high Schlaberstatt crossing to the north .
The Geißstein can also be reached as a ski tour in winter via the southwest route from the Bürglhütte .
