St. Vitus Church

Geisenfeldzüge has been part of the town of Geisenfeld in Hallertau in the Upper Bavarian district of Pfaffenhofen an der Ilm since 1971 .

The church village Geisenfeld winds lies west of the city center of Geisenfeld and has grown together with Geisenfeld over the years.

history

Geisenfeldzüge is a settlement of Wends from the Bohemia region who were given to the Benedictine monastery Geisenfeld as prisoners of war as workers. In 736 they are said to have laid out the first Hallertau hop garden in the local area.

The incorporation into the city of Geisenfeld took place on April 1, 1971.

A large new building area turned the former street village into a clustered village .

natural reserve

  • Linden tree right next to the church, planted in 1726. The linden tree was badly damaged by a storm in July 2007. It had to be cut back very severely.
