Geochang County ( Korean : 거창군 , Geochang-gun ) is located in Gyeongsangnam-do Province . The administrative headquarters are in the city of Geochang-eup. The district had an area of 803 km² and a population of 62,726 inhabitants in 2019.
The Geochang International Festival of Theater , which was launched in 1989, is considered the most famous theater festival in Korea.
