Georg Johannes Conradi

Georg Johannes Conradi (born February 27, 1679 in Riga , † September 7, 1747 in Rendsburg ) was a German Lutheran theologian .

Life

Georg Johannes Conradi, who was born in Riga on February 27, 1679 as the son of a craftsman , attended school in his hometown and then studied theology at the University of Halle . At first he wanted to become a lecturer , but he rejected this idea and moved to Stade because some of his relatives lived there. There he finally became a military preacher , held the position during his move to Hamburg and wanted to take up a position as pastor at the cathedral there . Because the vocation was not confirmed, he became pastor of the German parish in Stockholm instead ; in this office he stayed until 1720. There he married; traveled to Copenhagen in August of the same year and became court preacher there in 1721 . In 1728 he gave up the position to become general superintendent in Rendsburg for Schleswig-Holstein . In addition, he was senior consistory advisor , provost for Gottorf and Rendsburg, and church director . Conradi died on September 7th, 1747 in Rendsburg.
