Georg Maier (theater director)
Georg Maier (born September 27, 1941 in Grünwald near Munich ) is a German theater director , author , director , innkeeper , folk and theater actor .
Life
Georg Maier comes from a Munich host family, his father was a tenant in the Gasthaus zur Hundskugel , Munich's oldest inn that existed until 2011. In 1966 he took over the Iberl restaurant in the Solln district of Munich, where he founded a theater that plays its own folk plays in Bavarian dialect, the Iberl stage . Georg Maier can be seen on television primarily with "his" Iberl stage, but occasionally also plays supporting roles in series. He is best known from the series " Irgendwie und Sowieso " and " Hindafing ".
Since October 2014, the new venue of the Iberl stage in Munich has been in the Augustiner headquarters , Herzogspitalstrasse.
