Georg von Bistram , also Jürgen von Bistram (* 1624 , † 1687 ) was the progenitor of the Estonian branch of the noble von Bistram family , he was the lord of Riesenberg and Rumm , royal Swedish general of the cavalry and district administrator .

In the Northern War

In the Northern War from 1674 to 1679, during the hunt across the Curonian Lagoon , in autumn 1678, the Swedes arrived at the assembly point near Riga . The Swedish army consisted of about 4,000 cavalrymen , 2,000 dragoons and 3,600 infantrymen . The Swedish generals consisted of the following people:

Origin and family

His father was Friedrich von Bistram (* around 1587; † around 1653), heir to Neu-Born and princely administrator of Neugut and Schwarden, he was married to Catharina von Grotthuss . Georg was the master of Riesenberg, had been legitimized by the revalsche matriculation commission and married to Anna Elisabeth von Taube , the heiress of Riesenberg and Rumm. Her descendants were Bengt Heinrich (1667-1724) and Christopher Heinrich (1668-1739).
