Georg Karl Wilhelm Otto von Transehe-Roseneck (nickname: George; and George Georgievich Transze; Russian : Георгий Георгиевич фон Транзеге or Георгий Георгиевич Транзе * 22. April 1845 at Gut Roseneck, Livonia ; † 14. February 1908 in Gatchina , Russia ) was a German-Baltic nobleman , Russian lieutenant general and commander of Gatchina.

Georg von Transehe-Roseneck received before the entered Russian Imperial Army , a legal education. On 13 October 1863 he entered into Warsaw his military service in the Guards - Battalion of Strelkov. As a recruit , he was used in January 1864 in the uprising of the Poles , which lasted until May 1864. In 1865 he was promoted to lieutenant and in 1866 to lieutenant . He served as a company officer from 1867 to 1868 and was appointed captain (captain) in 1868. He was now transferred to a battalion and took part in other fighting until 1875 . On October 29, 1878, Captain Transehe was appointed commander of the 14th Turkestan Line Infantry Battalion, based in Margelan . As a battalion commander, he distinguished himself through particular bravery and was promoted to major in 1879 , lieutenant colonel in 1881 and to colonel in 1886 . On February 26, 1887, he took over the command over the first Turkestan rifle battalion in Tashkent , after only 11 months, he was on 25 January in 1888 Division Commander of Crimea - Division in Simferopol appointed. On December 13, 1893, he became the commander of the Cuirassier Body Guard Regiment in Gatchina. As an extraordinary honor for his service to the Gatchina garrison , he was promoted to major general in 1896 . On April 7, 1899, Transehe was appointed commander of the 1st Brigade of the 1st Cavalry Leibgarden Division and was now stationed in Saint Petersburg . Ultimately, he returned to Gatchina on February 17, 1902, and became the garrison commander as lieutenant general .

Origin and family

Karl Wilhelm came from the German-Baltic noble family Transehe-Roseneck (Selsau-Orlaa family). His father was the district deputy Georg Paul Wilhelm von Transehe-Roseneck (1809-1887), Herr auf Selsau and Roseneck, who was married to Wilhelmine von Löwis of Menar (1780-1849). His brother was Astaf von Transehe-Roseneck (1865-1946). Georg wasn't married.
