During the battle of Tuttlingen he was wounded in Rottweil, where after the defeat Major General Reinhold von Rosen , who had escaped to Rottweil, took him with them, they also took the body of Jean Baptiste Budes de Guébriants and his body regiment and turned through the Black Forest against Freiburg.
