Georgia Helen Griffith (born December 5, 1996 in Canberra ) is an Australian athlete who competes in the middle distance run .

Athletic career

Georgia Griffith gained her first international experience at the 2014 Junior World Championships in Hayward Field  in  Eugene , where she just barely missed a medal in the 800 meter run in 2: 04.12 min . It was also used in the 4 x 400 meter relay and took seventh place in the final in 3: 39.65 minutes. In 2017 she qualified for the World Championships in London , where she was eliminated in both the 800 and 1500 meters in the heats. Two weeks later, she was at the Summer Universiade in Taipei in 2: 03.52 min Fourth. The following year she took part for the first time in the Commonwealth Games in her native Gold Coast . She was eliminated in the first lap over 800 meters in 2: 00.73 minutes and finished fifth in the 1500 meter competition in 4: 04.07 minutes.

In 2019 Griffith won the Oceania Championships in Townsville in 4: 12.53 min and shortly afterwards won the silver medal at the Student World Games in Naples behind the German Caterina Granz in 4: 09.89 min .

Griffith studies graphic design and economics at Monash University in Melbourne .
