Gerard Höweler

Gerard Höweler (* 1940 , Bandjermasin in Borneo ) is a Dutch sculptor who lives and works in Amsterdam .

life and work

From 1963 to 1967 Höweler was trained at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam with the sculptor Carel Kneulman . From the 1970s to the 1990s he was a lecturer at the Academie Minerva in Groningen, among others . Höweler exhibited regularly at home and abroad, and many of his works are displayed in public spaces in various countries .

In 1992 Höweler took part as a stone sculptor in the International Sculptor Symposium Stones on the Border in the Franco-German border area in Merzig and Saarland . Other symposia in which he participated were in The Sculpture Symposium Villány (Hungary), 1989 in Sendai (Japan), 1990 in Cochin (India), 1991 in Hagi (Japan), 1995 in Nanao (Japan), 1999 in Flörsheim (Germany ) and in 2007 and 2008 in Vietnam .
