Gerd Röhrs

Gerd Christian Röhrs (born May 1, 1930 in Hamburg ; † December 9, 2017 ) was a German officer ( major general ).

Life

After the end of the war in 1945, Röhrs initially worked in agriculture and joined the Bundeswehr as a tank grenadier in 1956 . In 1959 he was promoted to lieutenant. In 1961 he completed a course at the Hammelburg Infantry School . From 1964 to 1966 he completed the 7th general staff course (H) at the command academy of the Bundeswehr (FüAkBw) in Hamburg.

With the rank of brigadier general , Gerd Röhrs was commander of Panzergrenadierbrigade 35 in Hammelburg from 1979 to 1982 and from 1982 to 1985, as the successor to Karl-Eberhard Grumer, commander of the Army Officer School (OSH) in Hanover. From 1985 to 1987 he was the successor of Hans-Kurt Nolzen in the rank of major general and deputy to the commanding general of the I. Corps in Münster.

Röhrs was an engineer (grad.) , Married and had three children.
