Karl-Eberhard Grumer

Karl-Eberhard Grumer (born December 19, 1929 in Lahr ) is a German officer ( retired major general ). He was u. a. Commander of the Army Officer School .

Life

Promotions

Grumer joined the Federal Border Police in 1951, and in 1956 he switched to the Bundeswehr . There he was adjutant and S 1 in a grenadier battalion. In 1957 he attended the US Army Infantry School course at Fort Benning , Georgia. Afterwards he was company commander in the Panzer Grenadier Battalion 182 in Boostedt. In 1961 he became S3 of the 6th Panzer Grenadier Division in Neumünster. From 1963 to 1965 he completed the 6th general staff course (H) at the command academy of the Bundeswehr (FüAkBw) in Hamburg.

In 1965/66 he attended the Command and General Staff College (CGSC) of the US Army in Fort Leavenworth , Kansas. From 1966 to 1968 he was G1 and 1968/69 G3 of the 2nd Jägerdivision in Marburg. From 1969 to 1971 he was in command of the 362th Panzer Grenadier Battalion. In 1971 he became G3 in the HQ Allied Forces Central Europe (AFCENT) in Brunssum. In 1973 he became Head of Department at the German Military Representative of NATO. From 1975 to 1978 he was the commander of Panzer Brigade 30 in Ellwangen.

In 1978 he became commander of the Army Officers School (OSH) in Hanover; In 1982 he was followed by Gerd Röhrs . From 1982 to 1988 he was deputy commanding general of the II Corps and commander of the corps troops in Ulm.

He is married and has three children.
