Bernd Albert

Bernd Albert (born December 23, 1940 in Stettin , Pomerania ) is a German officer ( retired major general ). He was u. a. Commander of the Air Force Command / 4. Division and the Army Officer School .

Life

Promotions

Albert joined the Bundeswehr in 1961 (tank reconnaissance training company 160 in Flensburg). He completed the officer candidate course at Combat Troop School II in Munster. In 1961 he was with the tank reconnaissance battalion in Eutin. In 1962 he attended the Army Officer School II in Hamburg. From 1962 to 1969 he was platoon leader and S3 in the tank reconnaissance battalion in Lüneburg.

From 1973 to 1975 he took part in the 16th general staff course (H) at the command academy of the Bundeswehr (FüAkBw) in Hamburg. From 1975 to 1977 he was G3 in the HQ of the Central Army Group (CENTAG) in Mannheim. In 1977 he became a consultant in the command staff of the Army (Fü H III 1) in Bonn. From 1979 to 1981 he was the commander of Panzer Reconnaissance Battalion 1 in Braunschweig. In 1981 he became G3 in the 1st Airborne Division in Bruchsal. From 1983 to 1987 he was head of the CINCENT personal staff in Brunssum. In 1987 he moved to Bonn as Head of Division Fü H III 1. In 1989/90 he was the commander of Panzer Grenadier Brigade 4 in Göttingen. In 1990 he became the commander of the 4th motorized rifle division in Erfurt in order to convert to a homeland security brigade (later Panzerbrigade 39 ) .

From 1991 to 1994 he was Head of Staff Department Fü H III in Bonn. In 1994/95 he was the commander of the Luftmobile Forces / 4. Division in Regensburg. In 1995 he became the commander of the Army Officers School (OSH) in Hanover.
