Hannsjörn Boës

Hannsjörn Boës (born December 3, 1936 in Munster ) is a German officer ( Lieutenant General retired).

Life

His father was the Brigadier General of the Bundeswehr Ulrich Boës (1911-1997).

Boës joined the officer candidate battery of the artillery training battalion in Idar-Oberstein in 1956. In 1957 he attended the Army Officer School II in Husum. Afterwards he was platoon leader in the mountain artillery battalion 235 in Bad Reichenhall and youth officer in the 1st mountain division in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. From 1961 to 1967 he was S 2 / S1 and battery chief in the mountain artillery battalion 235 in Bad Reichenhall.

From 1967 to 1969 he took part in the 10th general staff course (H) at the command and control academy of the Bundeswehr (FüAkBw) in Hamburg. In 1969 he was G1 in the 6th Panzer Grenadier Division in Neumünster and in 1971 G3 in the 16 Panzer Grenadier Brigade in Wentorf. From 1974 to 1976 he was commander of the rocket artillery battalion 62 in Kellinghusen. In 1976 he became a consultant in the command staff of the army (Fü H IV 1) in Bonn and general staff officer with the chief of staff there. In 1978/79 he was Chief of Staff in the 1st Panzer Division in Hanover. After another assignment as Head of Division FüH I1, he attended the Royal College of Defense Studies (RCDS) in London in 1982 . In 1983 it was for special use with the Inspector of the Army , Lieutenant General Meinhard Glanz , in Hamburg at the local FüAkBw. From 1983 to 1985 he was in command of the 31st Panzer Grenadier Brigade in Oldenburg.

In 1985 he became commander of the Army Officers' School in Hanover and in 1988 of the 10th Panzer Division in Sigmaringen. In 1990/91 he was chief of staff at the FüH in Bonn. From 1991 to 1995 he was the commanding general of the 1st Corps in Münster. In 1995 he was assigned to the German-Dutch Corps in Münster for special use .
