Gerhard Ernst (actor)
Gerhard Ernst (* 1946 in Vienna ) is an Austrian actor and singer . He was a member of the ensemble at the Vienna Burgtheater from 1990 to 1995 and has been a member of the Vienna Volksoper since 2001 .
Life
Gerhard Ernst was a member of the newly founded Mozart Choir from 1956 . He received his acting training at the Krauss drama school , singing lessons from Erich Schwarzbauer. From 1968 to 1970 he was engaged in Garmisch-Partenkirchen , from 1970 to 1977 in Mainz and from 1977 to 1985 in Krefeld-Mönchengladbach . From 1985 to 1990 he was a member of the ensemble of the Vereinigte Bühnen Graz at the Graz Opera House and the Graz Schauspielhaus , from 1990 to 1995 he was a member of the ensemble at the Vienna Burgtheater and from 1995 to 1998 at the Theater in der Josefstadt . Since 2001 he has been a member of the ensemble of the Vienna Volksoper , where he was seen as Alfred P. Doolittle in My Fair Lady and as prison director Frank and bailiff Frosch in der Fledermaus .
At the Mörbisch Sea Festival in 2014 he was seen as the milkman Tevje in Anatevka and in 2017 as the little worm in the bird dealer . Ernst is also on stage with solo programs such as Der Herr Karl , Today Der schupfte Ferdl is putting on fresh socks and Papa will fix it on stage and has been the artistic director and director of the Kittsee Summer Festival since 2007 . Ernst embodies the role of the butcher Hofstädter in commercials .
