Gerrit Wegkamp (born April 13, 1993 in Ochtrup ) is a German football player .
Career
societies
Wegkamp started playing football at the age of three at SV Suddendorf-Samern , a multi-discipline club from the Grafschaft Bentheim district . Via SV Bad Bentheim , he got into the youth department of VfL Osnabrück in spring 2010 , where he was initially used in the U-17 Bundesliga . In the 2010/11 season he played in the U-19 Bundesliga , in which he was the top scorer in the North / Northeast season with 20 goals at the end of the season. For the 2011/12 season Wegkamp moved up to the professional team.
On July 23, 2011 (1st matchday) he made his professional debut for VfL Osnabrück - still as a U19 player - in the 3rd division in a 1-0 win in the away game against SV Darmstadt 98 . On September 13, 2011 (9th match day) he scored his first two goals as a professional in a 2-0 win in the away game against 1. FC Heidenheim .
For the 2012/13 season Wegkamp moved to Bundesliga promoted Fortuna Düsseldorf , with whom he signed a contract valid until June 30, 2015. He played his first Bundesliga game on November 4, 2012 (matchday 10) in a 3-2 defeat in the away game against Bayer 04 Leverkusen , substituting Johannes van den Bergh in the 81st minute.
