With the law on the further reorganization of the municipal boundaries in the Westphalian industrial district of March 22, 1928 ( PrGS. P. 12), the administrative district of Arnsberg was redistributed. The consequences were the loss of the independence of cities or the acquisition of district freedom as well as the dissolution and reshaping of districts.

Enlargement of urban districts

  • Enlargement of urban district 1 Dortmund by 22 rural communities (§ 2)
  • Extension of the urban district of Herne by three rural communities (§ 3)

Formation of new city districts

  • Formation of the new urban district 1 Castrop-Rauxel from the previous municipality Castrop-Rauxel and the rural municipality Deininghausen 2 (§ 4)
  • Formation of the new Gelsenkirchen-Buer urban district from the previous municipalities of Buer and Gelsenkirchen and the rural municipality of Horst
  • Formation of the new urban district of Lünen from the previous municipality of Lünen, the rural municipality of Brambauer and parts of the rural municipality of Derne 3 (§ 5)

Two parts of the rural community of Deininghausen were incorporated into the municipality of Castrop-Rauxel on April 1, 1926.
3 On November 22, 1922, the previous communities of Altenderne-Niederbecker and Hostedde were incorporated into the community of Altenderne-Oberbecker. This was renamed Derne on October 27, 1923 .

Dissolution of a district

Changes to these regulations

  • On May 21, 1930, the Gelsenkirchen-Buer district was renamed Gelsenkirchen .
  • On July 1, 1950, the border between the independent cities of Dortmund and Lünen was redefined.
