The law on the reorganization of communities in the district of Moers was promulgated on June 24, 1969 and restructured some communities in the district (later district) of Moers.

The district of Moers and most of the communities were later incorporated into the new district of Wesel through the Lower Rhine Act . Only Rheurdt went to the Kleve district .
