Law on the amalgamation of the communities Bergkamen, Heil, Oberaden, Rünthe and Weddinghofen, district of Unna

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The law on the amalgamation of the communities Bergkamen, Heil, Oberaden, Rünthe and Weddinghofen, Unna district was promulgated on November 2, 1965 and restructured five communities in the Unna district . The law came into force on January 1, 1966. It was repealed on June 23, 2004.

Historical background

The five communities were in the northwest of the Unna district . In the run-up to the reorganization of the municipalities in North Rhine-Westphalia, considerations were made in these municipalities to initiate their own solution for a reorganization of the municipalities in the north-west of the Unna district. Originally, the former municipalities of Niederaden and Overberge were also involved. Niederaden withdrew in the course of the talks and agreed to the integration into the city of Lünen , which took place on January 1, 1968. In Rünthe and Overberge, there was no two-thirds majority in the votes in the municipal councils. The population in Rünthe voted for the connection with the subsequent necessary public participation. The residents of Overberg voted against the incorporation because there were tendencies towards Kamen . So the new church was not yet joined in 1966. On January 1, 1968, on the occasion of the reorganization of the community in the entire district of Unna, they were finally ready to join the Bergkamen, which had meanwhile been elevated to town. Since the legal situation had changed in the meantime, neither a vote in the municipal council nor citizen participation were required.
