The law on the reorganization of communities in the Steinfurt district was promulgated on June 27, 1969 and restructured nine communities in the Steinfurt district . In addition, three offices were dissolved.

As a result of the Münster / Hamm Act , additional communities in the Steinfurt district were reorganized on January 1, 1975, the previous Steinfurt district (January 1, 1939 to September 30, 1969: Steinfurt district) was dissolved and the towns and communities were part of the new Steinfurt district assigned.

Brief description

§ 1   Merger of the city of Ochtrup and the communities of Langenhorst and Welbergen to form the new city of Ochtrup, dissolution of the Ochtrup office
§ 2 Merger of the town of Horstmar and the municipality of Leer to form the new town of Horstmar, dissolution of the Horstmar office
§ 3 Merger of the municipalities of Laer and Holthausen to form the new municipality of Laer, dissolution of the Laer office
§ 4 Integration of the municipality of Hembergen into the city of Emsdetten
§ 5 Confirmation of change of territory agreements
§ 6 Allocation of Horstmar, Ochtrup and Laer to the Burgsteinfurt District Court
§ 7 Comes into force on July 1, 1969
