The law on the reorganization of communities in the Düren district was promulgated on June 28, 1969 and restructured 39 communities in the Düren district . They were merged into 9 new communities and the Niederzier office was dissolved.
As a result of the Aachen Act on January 1, 1972, communities in the Düren district were reorganized, z. Some of those who were only educated in 1969. The previous Düren district (January 1, 1939 - September 30, 1969: Düren district) was dissolved and most of the towns and communities were assigned to the new Düren district. The community of Füssenich was incorporated into the city of Zülpich and thus became part of the Euskirchen district.
