Bogheim is a district of the municipality of Kreuzau in the Düren district , North Rhine-Westphalia .

location

Bogheim is located on the north edge of the Eifel in the Rureifel in the North Eifel Nature Park . Neighboring towns are Untermaubach , Straß and Langenbroich . From Bogheim you have a good view of the Rur valley to the district town of Düren .

history

The Heim name in connection with the Bogo = bend, which comes from the Germanic tribe, indicates an early Franconian foundation . The bend can still be seen today along the village street.

The place was 70% destroyed in World War II and later rebuilt.

On July 1, 1969, the previously independent municipality of Bogheim was merged with seven other municipalities to form the new municipality of Kreuzau.

Bogheim is located off the county road 31 from Straß to Untermaubach. From this road a connecting road leads into the village. There is no through traffic.

The buses of the Düren district railway go to the place with the line 201.

In the small town there is a sports club and a rifle brotherhood .
