Law on the reorganization of the district of Geldern

The law to reorganize the district of Geldern was announced on March 11, 1969 and restructured the communities in the district (later district) of Geldern.

Before the municipality reform, there were the cities of Geldern, Kevelaer and Straelen as well as twenty other municipalities and five offices in the Geldern district . With the law, six new municipalities were formed, three of which had municipal rights.

Through the Lower Rhine Act , the municipalities were incorporated into a new, larger district of Kleve .
