Garrett Nash (born June 16, 1993 ), stage name Gnash , is an American musician and record producer from Los Angeles .

biography

Garrett Nash became known in 2015 through his Soundcloud appearance. He regularly published his own songs and found many listeners with his piano ballads. The breakthrough came in August with the song I Hate U, I Love U , in which the singer-songwriter Olivia O'Brien, also known through Soundcloud, took over the female vocal part. The number of views also with the streaming provider Spotify rose quickly over the million mark . Gnash was signed to Warner Music . At the end of the year he also worked with G-Eazy and contributed to their second album When It's Dark Out .

On March 7, 2016, I Hate U, I Love U were officially released with a video and also as a single in Australia. The number of views on Soundcloud had risen to 25 million and on Spotify over 5 million. After three weeks in the Australian charts , the song reached number one .
