GoAir is an Indian low-cost airline based in Mumbai and based at Mumbai Airport .

history

GoAir was founded in 2004 by the Wadia Group and began flight operations on October 30, 2005; scheduled flight operations began on November 4 of the same year. As usual for low-cost airlines, the airline operates a uniform fleet, which in this case consists of Airbus A320-200s .

The Italian Giorgio De Roni was CEO from June 2011 to March 31, 2015 , until he left for health reasons. His successor on June 15, 2015 was the Austrian Wolfgang Prock-Schauer, who was CEO of the Mumbai-based Indian airline Jet Airways from June 2003 to October 15, 2009, and Hartmut Mehdorn's successor as CEO of Air Berlin from January 2013 to November 2014 was.

  • The film The Age of Stupid shows individual excerpts and interviews from the time the airline was founded.
  • As an economy measure, the then CEO de Roni announced in July 2013 that only female cabin crew would be employed in the future, as women are around 20 kg lighter than men and this could save around GBP 300,000 in kerosene.
