Go babe! is a German acoustic blues band .
history
The quartet was founded in 1993 by the musicians Roland "Golly" Hertlein , Wolfgang Bernreuther , Reinhard "Hardi" Fick and Rudolf "Rudi" Bayer. All musicians are also active in other music projects.
In 1993 the first album was recorded and mixed in the button studio . The album was released as an LP by Hifine-musik, the CD by L + R Records and was distributed by Bellaphon . The CD contained five bonus tracks. The album was reissued in 2003. The record version was voted one of the 50 most beautiful LPs of all time by Stereo magazine in 2004 .
In 1998 Time for a Change was recorded with 20 titles and in 2001 Cartago Incendiary with 18 titles: Both were published in January 2002 by Nürnberg Musikverlag Media Arte. Another album called Universal Favorites was planned , which could no longer be realized after bassist Bayer crashed with a paraglider .
The band performed in the Bavarian area, for example in the pub stage in Velburg , in the Alte Mälzerei in Regensburg , in the Reitstadel in Neumarkt , in the Reichswaldhalle in Feucht and at the Rother Bluestagen in the Kulturfabrik Roth , at the Bardentreffen in Nuremberg (2001), but was also presented at the Popkomm in Cologne .

“Blues doesn't just consist of three grips and reminiscences of the tough years. “Go Babe!” Have released the new CD “Cartago Incendiary” after their grandiose first release “I wonder why” and the successor “Time for a change”. "Cartago Incendiary" refers to a song that, referring to a small village in America ( Cartago ) and ancient Carthage , describes the state of the heart of an abandoned man. The texts as a whole live from sometimes powerful, sometimes filigree allegories and, in contrast to the often flat “heart-pain-rhymes”, are highly literary. Also noteworthy is the subtle self-irony that is mostly felt subliminally. The arrangements support the respective mood, thus creating picturesque pictures even for the "non-blueser". Sometimes they rock in a classic blues manner, so that one or the other song is catchy in the memory. A rather quiet CD for fans of the extraordinary blues ... unplugged! "
“Anyone who knows the musical jack- of- all- trades and Kneipler from Oberweiling knows that Golly has played the“ Stalker Blues ”in various versions and visions on all of his previous releases. Here now he presents a collection of no less than 18 versions from the last 15 years. And: none is like the other, or even boring.
