Goldschau is a district of the city of Osterfeld in the Burgenland district in Saxony-Anhalt .

Goldschau is approx. 12 km southeast of Naumburg (Saale) in the Leineweh valley.
In addition to Goldschau, Kaynsberg also belongs to the former community.
history
The community was first mentioned on June 5, 1170. It was in the Saxon office of Weißenfels until 1815 . There is a manor in the village. The manor formerly also had jurisdiction. Over the centuries, several well-known aristocratic families were owned, such as the de Colsov, von Tannrode, von Greffe, de Selbwaldige, von Freudenstein, von Schönberg, von Erfa from 1170 and the von Trotha for the last 200 years until the expropriation in 1945.
In 1992 the approximately 219 hectare area was declared a natural monument.
The Kaynsberg district takes its name from the Kayn family. It was also called Kaiserberg because Emperor Otto pitched his army camp here in 1213 .
On January 1, 2010, the previously independent municipalities of Goldschau were incorporated into the city of Osterfeld together with the municipalities of Heidegrund and Waldau .

Attractions
In Goldschau there is a late Gothic hall church with a three-sided choir closure, which can be found in an inscription stone discovered in 1933 on the choir , dating from 1518. Today's church was built by Johannes Ling on the walls of the former Romanesque chapel, which has stood here since 1200.
