Gottfried Sperling

Gottfried Sperling (born November 10, 1921 in Selm ; † January 18, 1991 in Neubrandenburg ) was a German politician ( SED ) and peasant functionary. Among other things, he was chairman of the council for the district of Neubrandenburg and general secretary of the Association of Mutual Farmers Aid (VdgB).
Life
Sperling, son of a miner , attended the elementary and trade school in Zwickau . Between 1936 and 1939 he completed an apprenticeship as a machine fitter in the Brückenbergschacht Zwickau and then worked in this profession. In 1939 he was drafted first for the Reich Labor Service and then for military service in the Wehrmacht . In 1945 he was released from captivity .
From 1945 to 1947 he was employed as a skilled worker in an electrical installation business in Philadelphia (Mark) . He joined the Communist Party of Germany (KPD) in 1946 and became a member of the Socialist Unity Party of Germany (SED) in the same year. From 1947 to 1949 he worked as a machine fitter and lathe operator in Storkow and as the technical manager of the machine rental station (MAS) in Philadelphia. In 1949/50 he headed the MAS state administration in Brandenburg and the MAS Löwenbruch in the Teltow district . In 1950/51, Sperling was first secretary of the VdgB district board of Teltow and in 1951/52 - until the dissolution of the states in the GDR - first secretary of the VdgB state board of Brandenburg. From 1950 to 1952, Sperling was also chairman of the Teltow district council. In 1952 he studied at the SED state party school in Schmerwitz near Wiesenburg / Mark . From 1953 to 1957 he was a member of the office and secretary for agriculture of the SED district leadership in Potsdam . In 1957/58, Sperling studied at the party college at the Central Committee of the CPSU in Moscow .
From 1958 to 1970 he acted as general secretary or first secretary of the central board of the VdgB and was a member of the National Council of the National Front of the GDR . From 1970 to 1972 he was chairman of the council for agricultural production and the food industry in Neubrandenburg, from April 1972 until November 1977 he was chairman of the council for the district of Neubrandenburg. He was also a member of the secretariat of the SED district leadership in Neubrandenburg. In November 1977 he was relieved of this position for health reasons. From 1978 to 1983, Sperling was chairman of the Neubrandenburg Chamber of Crafts . In April 1983 he was disabled.
